i just wanted to look up some of my past, iwas also a factory team member in this year with phyllis as team captain.even stayed in dayton ohio with the team and went to her house.she drove a black volkswagon scirrocco.just wondered why i am not listed as one of the team memmbers for this year!i also went to the plant when they were devoloping the pro lightning and had the second frame and forks only to matt harris.
Martin you werent listed cause I didnt know about you or Chris. I just went from magazine ads and pictures Ive seen. This isnt a official Huffy site just a fan site. Being from PA/NJ I was a Matt Harris fan (one of many I pulled for).
I hate to see all the angst people give Huffy after all they did for the sport and their riders. So I made this fan site.
Were you and Chris Full Factory or Factory Support or a National Team members?
Martin or any other Team Member, did the team frames (Pro light) have any type of markings or identification feature associating a frame to a rider? Additionally, was there anything differentiating the team frame from the bike shop chromoly model?
I’m a fan of the Huffy Pro Light-Chromoly, it’s sorta like old coins, gotta find out about the rare ones.
Many thanks in advance.
I have some thing you might like as well. I was also a member of that 1982 Factory team. There were a few others as well. Like Rodney Cooper. If you are interested in me sending you literature, ect let me know.
Interested? Hell yes lol.

Hello, just checking in to your site for the first time. I wanted to let you know that I too rode on the original Huffy factory team in 82-83…and I have pictures to prove it!
The team was rather large in the early years, aside from the names you have posted above, it included the original DK Bikes name sakes: Nikki and Billy Danishek, and a handful of other riders from the Dayton OH area, like Bruce Brockert, the Beam brothers (Dan and Greg), Steve Smith, Drew Potts (from St. Louis, MO) – I know I’m leaving out a few. Let me know if you would like me to add to your website, I have pics of my old uniforms, newsletters and other stuff I’ve saved over the years. Great job on the website, I’m glad I found it.
Jim Stinson wow. I grew up in PA so I know that name. I ate slept and lived for BMX out of Southeastern PA. We had all the fast guys but you Western guys had who you, Matt Harris, pfft. LOL Just kidding its an honor to have you visit the site Jim. Email any pictures to bulletproof2000@live.com I will post them on the site. My only claim to fame was riding my BMX bike across America, but I left from NC and not my home in PA. You were totally NBL and I only stopped at ABA tracks along the way (got a big write up in ABA Action) and raced ABA that year.
EMAIL me at ipodlover96@gmail.com if you wanna buy an 82 huffy pro lightning
